Current Job Openings for Limited Permit (LP) Therapist – Mental Health Counselor - Scarsdale NY

Peaceful Living Mental Health Counseling is currently seeking compassionate, motivated, and trauma-informed Limited Permit (LP) Therapists to join our growing team.

We offer flexible opportunities for:

  • Part-time (10-15 clients/week)

  • Full-time (20+ clients/week)

  • In-person (Scarsdale) or hybrid

Position Overview:

​As a Limited Permit Therapist, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapy under clinical supervision while working toward full licensure. This role is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about trauma-informed care and eager to grow within a supportive, collaborative practice.

Position Requirements:

  • Limited Permit (LP) in Mental Health Counseling (New York State) – required

  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field

  • Commitment to working toward full LMHC licensure

  • EMDR training preferred, or willingness to complete training within 6 months

  • Strong interest in trauma-informed care and nervous system-based approaches

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently while receiving supervision

  • English proficiency required; bilingual candidates are a plus

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Core Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, trusting therapeutic relationships with clients

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans

  • Provide individual (and when appropriate, group) therapy sessions in-person and/or hybrid

  • Deliver evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions (including EMDR where applicable)

  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR system

  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support high-quality client care

  • Adhere to ethical standards, confidentiality, and all regulatory requirements

  • Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development
