A calm, relational approach for people who feel emotionally overwhelmed, reactive, disconnected, or alone, especially when it’s impacting their closest relationships.
Hi, I’m Sonia Gonzalez, M.S., LMHC.
I’m a trauma-informed anxiety therapist who works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing emotional overwhelm, anxiety, relationship struggles, and trauma-related patterns that feel difficult to understand or change.
Many of the clients I support feel constantly on edge, emotionally reactive or angry, lonely even when surrounded by others, or burdened by a deep sense of self-doubt, feeling unimportant, unseen, or “not good enough.” Often, these experiences show up most clearly in close relationships with partners, family members, or friends.
Therapy with me offers a space to slow down, feel understood, and safely explore these patterns so you can feel more grounded, connected, and confident in yourself and your relationships.
Who I Support
Clients often come to therapy feeling:

-
Anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, or chronically stressed
-
Angry, irritable, or emotionally reactive without knowing why
-
Lonely, disconnected, or like no one truly understands them
-
Stuck in recurring relationship conflict with partners, family, or friends
-
Impacted by life transitions, family dynamics, or unmet emotional needs
-
Carrying self-doubt or a persistent sense of not being “enough”
I work with emotionally sensitive, thoughtful individuals who want more than surface-level coping strategies and are looking for therapy that is relational, trauma-informed, and deeply supportive.

Less emotional overwhelm and anxiety
-
Improved emotional regulation and resilience

Healthier communication and boundaries

Bilingual Therapy in English & Spanish
I offer therapy sessions in both English and Spanish. For clients who feel more comfortable expressing emotions, experiences, or cultural context in Spanish, bilingual therapy can provide a deeper sense of safety, understanding, and connection.

If you’re seeking a Spanish-speaking trauma-informed therapist in Scarsdale or through virtual therapy in New York, Connecticut or Florida, I’m honored to support you.

Whether you’re seeking support for anxiety, emotional regulation, relationship challenges, or trauma-related concerns, therapy can be a meaningful step toward feeling more balanced and supported.
Trauma-Informed Therapy for Emotional & Relationship Struggles
Anxiety, anger, and emotional pain often have roots in past experiences, attachment patterns, and how the nervous system learned to cope with stress or disconnection. As a trauma-informed therapist, I focus on understanding these underlying patterns rather than simply labeling symptoms.

Together, we work to gently explore how emotions show up in your body, thoughts, and relationships, and how past experiences may be influencing present reactions. This approach supports deeper healing, emotional regulation, and more secure, connected relationships.
