What is Reiki?

Reiki therapy is a spiritually based hands on treatment that is used for stress reduction, relaxation and healing.


The law of physics states that energy can neither be created or destroyed.  Our bodies are made up of such energy.  Sometimes stress, physical illness, or traumatic experiences can impact the flow of our energy. Events that cause distress can erode and train our bodies for physical ailments.

Reiki helps to alleviate negative blocks in our energy field so that we can be free from stress and physical illness.  When our energy flows freely, we can feel happy and healthy.

How does Reiki work?

Sessions are conducted with an individual either sitting up or lying down. Unlike massage therapy, you are fully clothed for a Reiki session.

A Reiki session begins with as assessment of each of your 7 main chakras (energy centers). This tests for blockages or imbalances that may be impacting your physical or emotional health. This helps give the therapist an idea of areas that may need special attention to improve your overall health.

After the assessment, the therapist then channels Reiki energy by a non-invasive lying of hands over your body. This helps to heal and balance any blocks or imbalances that you may have.

How effective is Reiki?

Reiki has been used for centuries as a method of healing and relaxation.  Although Reiki is not an evidence based therapy, such as CBT or EMDRit has been used successfully for healing.


Reiki  is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and stressor and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works very well as a complement with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
