Cait Leavey is a graduate of New York University, with a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness.


As an educator for 8 years, she also holds a Master's degree in Education. 


Cait creates an environment for her clients that is supportive, accepting, empowering, and a catalyst for growth.


She takes a warm, trusting, and welcoming approach to therapy, meeting every child and family at their level and need.


Cait applies a strength-based approach to her practice, instilling confidence in each individual's strengths and “superpower” while equipping them with the tools to help them thrive and overcome their challenges.

Cait is available for morning, afternoon and evening appointments virtually or in-person Tuesday - Friday. She is also available on Saturdays at Peaceful Living MHC, located on the border of Scarsdale and Eastchester in Westchester, NY.

I teach stressed out parents and families how to better understand their child’s emotional challenges and learn concrete ways to deal with behavioral challenges.

I also help individuals of all ages who have been impacted by trauma and loss find inner peace and build strength and resiliency.

I became a therapist because I know what it is like to be a child going through big emotions and in need of support to help find the tools to cope. I learned how difficult and messy traumatic events can be in our lives, but also learned how resiliency can be beautiful. 

Relationship building is critical.  Children develop and heal in the context of their relationships.  My goal in the beginning of our sessions is to create a space of safety, curiosity, empathy, reflection, and most importantly non judgment. My sessions are open, genuine, and collaborative.  I am passionate about helping children who have been through the unimaginable, specifically a loss or a traumatic event.  My goal is to instill hope and healing with all clients I have the privilege to work with.   

I specifically am driven to work with children, who have experienced grief, as I have both experienced and worked with children of all ages experiencing a loss or have been impacted by trauma. I love working with kids with big emotions to help them learn healthy ways to feel their feelings.

Cait is a graduate of New York University, with a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness.  She also previously received a Masters of Arts in Education. She holds a Limited Permit to practice Mental Health Counseling in the state of New York.  As part of her post-graduate learning, Cait is being supervised by Lauren Arnau on her work with her clients.
